Hello there!
A few months ago I decided I wanted to start a blog. But for a while I've had the feeling something wasn't right... As soon as I got 25 followers I did a giveaway. I didn't expect I would grow that many followers. Now I'm having another giveaway, but I just feel like most of my followers just followed for the prize and future giveaways. Basically what I'm trying to say; I don't feel like I got my followers the right way.
Also, I'm just not happy with my blogname and although I can just change that, it's not a fresh new start. Because I want a new start, I decided that today, on my 21st birthday I'm having that new blog start :)
If you like my blog now, please follow me at http://fyeahilovenails.blogspot.com/ :) My Tumblr name has been like that since the beginning and also on Twitter I go by that name.
Thank you all so much and hopefully I see you back on my new blog :)
EDIT: You can still enter my giveaway, but you don't have to follow this blog. I hope I can announce the winner January 7th on my new blog.

Simple Red Glitter Christmas Manicure
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
First let me apologize for not posting for a few days! (here comes the lame excuse) I simply just didn't have the time to do it. But I am back with a really simple Christmas manicure.
The gorgeous red glitter polish was given to me in a swap with Iris (Polish Amor). I remember when unpacking the package my brother was looking and this one was definitely his favorite. And I'm not talking about him wanting to wear polish :P He even asked me a few days ago what the brand of this polish was, because a friend of him needs a red glitter polish xD
This red glitter is called Dorothy and is by NYX. It has a sheer black base and you would need at least 3 or 4 coats to get this opaque and you would be stuck with lots of glitter on your nails. I only painted my nails with 2 coats of a black polish and applied this one on the tips and a little under that.

This manicure was done 6 days ago and in those six days my nails changed... An intern at work has a friend who wanted to provide me some acrylics. I gave in, but regret it. I knew acrylics were bad for your nails, but I actually don't like it, because it turned out ugly... So I wanted to ask if anybody knows if I can get them off by holding my nails in alcohol?
Thanks in advance :P
Also thank you for reading and I hope you will have an amazing Christmas!

A Romantic Manicure
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
Today I have a really simple, cute and (in my opinion) romantic manicure. It's pretty wearable with the pink flowers and I actually got compliments on it. Happy! :D I love it when people randomly tell me they like my nails :P
This was really simple, although it took me a few times to get it right. The white polish just wouldn't dry enough so I was able to stamp over it and the China Glaze Quick Fast Freeze Spray (or whatever it's called) would make the stamper slip off my nails...
For my base color I used Snow Motion from Catrice and for the flowers I used Catrice's newer version of Let's Mauve On. The image plate is Konad m65.
Thanks for reading!

Christmas Manicure: Red & Green Glitter
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
I've been trying to get my nails into Christmas spirit today. I've been trying different manicures and this was one of them.
As my base color I used Catrice's I Wear My Sunglasses At Night, because it has red and green glitters in it. Over that I tried to only apply Wet 'N Wild's Party Of Five Glitters at the base of my nail (I mean from my cuticle's towards the tip)
In the pictures it looks like there's purple in it as well, but that's not the case.
Excuse the skin around my middle finger. Probably the cold weather. |
I always take my pictures with the flash, because without it's hard to capture true colors. But because it would show a lot of purple with the flash I took some pictures without the flash as well.
So, are you in a Christmas mood already?

The Nail Polish Tag
Nory from Fierce Make Up & Nails tagged me a week ago. I think it's time to start posting this! :P
The rules:
1. Answer 10 questions.
2. Pass this tag to 5 bloggers.
3. Make sure that the bloggers you tagged know about this.
Here are the 10 questions.
1. How many polishes do you have?
- I counted 199, but I know I have some hidden polishes out here :P
2. What is your favorite brand of nail polish?
- I don't think I have a favorite. A lot of brands have polishes that apply like angel pee, but also polishes that apply like crap.
3. Do you like crackle polish or do you hate it?
- I like it. In my city people really start to notice it, so I like when they ask where I got it :P
4. What is your first nail polish brand?
- Catrice
5. If you're going to have a nail polish line, what are you gonna name it?
- Limited Addiction? :P How creative, but I hate it as my blog name, but would love it as a nail polish brand xD
6. What nail polish color does not compliment you?
- Green and yellow I think?
7. What nail polish color does compliment you?
- I like blue and dark purple on me. Funny, because those were colors that I used to hate in the beginning!
8. Name two of your best nail art friends.
- Take a look at my blog roll :P
9. What was the best nail polish gift you have ever received?
- Polishes that I got in a swap with Nory and Iris :) There would be no way for me to get my hands on the brands that they got me, so I'm super happy with those polishes!
10. Make a speech about thanking the blogger who tagged you.
- Is this mic on? Test 1, 2, 3... Hi Nory! Thanks for tagging me! I loved this tag so much! x
Here are the 5 people I tag:
1. Pretty Brilliant
2. Nailderella
3. Nail Polish Is My Crack
4. My World
5. Rebecca Likes Nails

Dupe Or No Dupe? Punk Purple vs. Wrapped Around My Finger
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
Another "Dupe Or No Dupe?"! :) I bought this Catrice polish at work last week and it actually never really stood out for me. I guess because the color is pinkish and I thought this was another polish I already had. Last week I was in the need to buy a polish at work again and since I own most Catrice polishes I just picked this one :P
E.L.F. - Punk Purple and Catrice - Wrapped Around My Finger |
On the picture these 2 don't really look the same, but in real life they do. The colors aren't really color accurate either, but I bet you can find swatches online. I've used Punk Purple in my Punk Princess Nails post before.
You can see the difference between them. Punk Purple is a bit more purple and Wrapped Around My Finger is more pink. That's what you'll see in real life as well. If you own one of these you don't need the other polish, because nobody would notice it's another polish.
Thanks for reading! :)

Wham! Pow! Warhol is Almost Famous!
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
Well, hello there!
Now that my nail polishes are finally hanging on the wall, it's a little easier to find polishes I want to use for a little nail art.
The title pretty much gives away what polishes I used for this. I started with a white base color from Catrice, Snow Motion. I only wanted neon pink tips, so used Color Club's Warhol for that. I decided I'd like some orange with it and used Wham! Pow! for that. I wanted to see if you could stamp with Almost Famous and I find that it worked. It didn't really keep it's own color, but it does fit nice if you ask me :P I used image plate m65 for the stamp.
Of course the topcoat made it all streak again, while I waited for a really long time to apply it. I used O.P.I. topcoat that the sweet Nory got me :)
I think I might have found the setting on my camera where it shows a bit more color, perfect for neons. This isn't really color accurate, but it's way better than the washed out colors.

My Nail Polish Is Hanging! + Question
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
Hello! Just a quick post today :)
Saturday my dad finally hung these things on the wall. I don't know what they're supposed to be called in English, but these things are picture holders. Perfect for nail polish!
I've been wanting these holders for months, but Ikea isn't that close to my house. I wanted these instead of a polish rack, because you can store so much more polishes. 2 weeks ago we finally went to Ikea and I bought 2 of these!
Sorry for the blurry pictures, but I don't know how to work my camera xD This isn't my whole stash, because it doesn't fit xD
But I was wondering; do you group your polishes by brand or color? I just don't know what to do!
Please let me know :)

Nail Art Friendly Blog!
Although I'm not so good at nail art and you haven't seen it a lot on my blog, the sweet Shannara from Nails And Stuff decide to give me this award not too long ago. Thank you for that! :)
It's really hard for me to nominate others, especially now I'm really late with this and I've seen so many people have been nominated already that I'm nominating everybody who reads this and has some nail art on their blog. Maybe a lazy way to do it, but it's just so hard :P
Thanks again Shannara! :)

Glitter In The Air
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
I love glitter on my nails, but I hate to remove it. I'm too impatient for that one technique where you have to sit down with your fingers wrapped in acetone for like 10 minutes.
So yeah, I didn't wear this manicure, I was just trying out to see what that glitter looks like :P (btw, you can also win that glitter in my giveaway. just saying ;p)
This is Essence's Purplelicious and I swear there was another version of it! My bottle dropped on the floor months ago, but I do think I gave Nory one in our swap. Not sure. But if there was another version of it, I used it in this Paint Splatter mani.
Holo molo! (see what I did there?) I do like this one and I wish it was more opaque. That way you could just wear a holographic glitter polish on it's own.
Okay, I'm ready for the weekend and when you read this I've been working for almost 5 hours and still have to go on for 7!
So, what are you going to do for the weekend? :)

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
An extra post today! :D
When I come home after work a package was waiting for me. I'm still waiting for 2 more things; Color Club's Alias and China Glaze Fast Freeze Quick Dry Spray. But I did got some really nice polishes today.
Other than nail polish I also ordered nail wheels, because I want to try out some nail art. And another Konad image plate; m65
First I got some holographic polishes and from left to right you see;
- Color Club - Revvvolution
- Color Club - Wild At Heart
- Color Club - Worth The Risque
Believe it or not, but these are my first neon polishes (I think... :P)
- Color Club - Almost Famous
- Color Club - Pucci-licous
- Color Club - Warhol
- Color Club - Wham! Pow!
Some glitters:
- Color Club - Ultra-Astral
- Color Club - Ruby Slippers
Some loners:
- Color Club - Overboard
- Golden Rose - Holographic 110
- China Glaze - Pool Party
And here the pinks next to each other:
- China Glaze - Pool Party
- Color Club - Warhol
- Color Club - Ultra-Astral
- Color Club - Overboard
The neons are hard to capture, but the last picture is the best I could get :P
Do you have any of these polishes? If not, which one do you think you would buy yourself? Let me know, down below :)

Inspired On Tumblr; Zebra Nails
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
As you might know; I use Tumblr. Depending on what kind of stuff you're interested in you can follow tumblelogs that like these things too. I'm interested in anything that has to do with nail polish, so I follow nail polish/nail art and that kind of stuff blogs :P
For this mani I was inspired by this picture. I didn't want to go for an all nude polish so I went for a little bit of holo with Color Club's Love 'Em Leave 'Em. Over that I stamped with the zebra image from image plate m57. (is it a zebra or tiger print? I still don't know... :P)
When that dried I applied a piece of striping tape and painted the left side black. I immediately took off the striping tape, because applying a topcoat or just waiting for it to dry will pull up the sides and maybe take of your polish under it.
Overall I'm kinda happy with how it looked. I'm looking forward to try more stuff that I've seen on Tumblr :)
If you have a Tumblr, please follow me at fyeahilovenails.tumblr.com :)

Pink Wednesday; Swap Swatches
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
A few weeks ago I did a swap with Iris from PolishAmor. Thank the lord she got the package, so a weight fell off my shoulders :P Like seriously, when I see these programs on TV where they check packages at the airport I'm scared they will do it to my package too. Since I'm still not really sure if it's legal to send nail polish... :P
Anywho.. She got me some pink polishes too. I don't have the box with polishes close to me at the moment, so I can't tell if these were the only three xD
This first one is Sinful Colors - Folly. This picture isn't really color accurate, but I can tell you it's gorgeous!
When I wrapped this second one open I was like; my mom is gonna love this bottle. My mom came into the room, looked at the polishes I already opened and she was like; Ooh, I like that bottle!
I didn't say anything :P This is Naby in the color (I believe) Rose. I never heard of this brand before, but it is a really nice polish! And of course the color is gorgeous too! I wore this one for like 3 days.

This third one is Wet 'N Wild's Tickled Pink. I don't really know why this one was on my witslist. I have a few pinks like this already. Still I like this kind of pink!
Which of these 3 is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! :)

Punk Princess Nails
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
I've always wanted to show/wear Essence's Time For Romance, but couldn't really find a base color for it. I thought to myself; I need a pinkish, purple polish, do I have that? Because I like to answer my own question, I answered 'no', until my eye fell on an ELF polish.
As my base color I'm wearing ELF's Punk Purple. On top of that I applied 2 coats of Time For Romance. For the stamp I used Konad image plate m79.
I also wanted to show you that Time For Romance seems to have a little bit of a holographic glitter in which you can even see in real life. So another plus for that. This polish is cute and it knows it! :P
Do you have Time For Romance and on what color/polish would you layer it on?

China Glaze Magnetix and Glitter Crackle Collections
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
China Glaze will come out with a new collection; Magnetix. With a magnet that comes with the polish you can make different designs on your nails. I know Essence has magnetic polishes, but I have never tried those.
This collection will come out in the Netherlands in March 2012, but I don't know when it will come out in other countries.
Another collection that will come out are glitter crackles. I don't know when these will come out.
Are you looking out for these collections? Are you gonna buy these polishes? I'm not sure about the Magnetix polishes, but I do think I might check out the new crackles.

Dupe Or No Dupe? High Hopes vs. Think Pink
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
Whenever I get a new polish my mom is always like; "I thought you had something like that already..." I'm always in denial, but I know it's kinda true sometimes... :P That's why I came up with 'Dupe Or No Dupe?'
On the left we have China Glaze's High Hopes and on the right we have Essence's Think Pink. I find these colors pretty orange by the way.
These polishes look pretty much the same in real life. You really can't tell the difference. In this picture you can tell one color is a little bit darker than the other.
If I had to pick one I would go for Think Pink. The Essence polish was really nice to apply while the China Glaze one kept doing it's own thing. It was really annoying. Also, High Hopes was a bit more streaky and less opaque than Think Pink.
Which of these is your favorite?
xoxo Ingie
Dots & Bows
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
Obviously I haven't been posting frequently anymore. Working all day makes me feel so blegh in a way that I just don't do anything with my nails. I walk around with the same nail polish for 3 days :P But a change is coming. Today I decided to put my nails on an at least 2 week 'diet'. I filed them down, got rid of the ugly cuticles, took care of my cuticles and nails and put a nail hardener on. There are still 6 nails that have a break too far down to clip them off, so maybe I have to extend my nail diet.
But in the past week and today I did do some things with my nails which will be good for at least 1 post everyday this week :) So some days my nails may be shorter or longer.
I lost my Konad scraper for a few weeks and did not want to buy a new scraper, knowing that when I get the new scraper I will find my old one. Finally I bought 2 new scrapers and there my old scraper came out saying 'Peek-a-boo!' But I have 3 scrapers now and I can finally use my image plates again.
For this manicure I painted my nails in a lovely pink called Folly from Sinful Colors that I got from Iris. I used image plate m79 for the dots and image plate m59 for the bows. This manicure failed every single time I tried it, so this is the best I could make out of it :P
Thanks for reading!

The Versatile Blogger Award!
A few weeks ago Nory from Fierce Make Up & Nails gave me The Versatile Blogger award. It's about time to do something with it! :P So thank you Nory! :)
There are two rules you have to follow:
1. List 7 things about you.
2. Pass this along to 15 other bloggers that deserve this award.
Okay, so here are 7 things about me!

2. I love 'Awkward' on MTV
3. When I go to sleep I listen to my iPod until I'm ready to go to sleep. If I don't listen to it it's hard to fall asleep.
4. In my head I always plan to clean my room and do this and that, but when it comes to it I don't do it.
5. When somebody gets hurt instead of comforting them I'm just standing there awkwardly smiling. It's the nerves I've been told xD
6. I love pictures of famous cities!

Draggy Magic Crackle
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
I've been wearing this manicure since Tuesday night. And I'm wearing it until at least tomorrow night :P Not because it's that special, but because I'm too tired to actually change it. Last night when I wanted to go to bed my younger brother had an accident with his bike and I had to take him to the hospital, in another city, on my scooter, in the freezing cold weather! We got lost and I drove around for almost 2 hours! He didn't break anything, but probably has to go back tomorrow because it still hurts.
(For some reason I like to share that with those who read :P)
Anyhow, I know most people aren't into the crackle anymore, but in my country and definitely my city a lot of people want to know where to get these crackle polishes :P
This is a Miss Sporty crackle and it also comes in blue (you can win them in my giveaway). I first put it on a nail wheel over polishes that were on there and the crackle looked really nice. I even put on a second coat of crackle which made it look even nicer! So I finally know that it's best to let your nail polish dry completely and THEN apply a crackle polish.
If you're actually reading this post and wonder what colors I used, here a short list:
Base color: Color Club - What A Drag
Glitter: Color Club - Magic Attraction
Crackle: Miss Sporty
Thanks for reading! This weekend I'm going to try to finally read everyones posts again and leave comments :)

Swap Swatches: Essie
* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
There are a few brands here that are hard to get for me here in the Netherlands. Sometimes not that hard to get, but I happen to live in a country where everything is expensive. Essie is one of those brands where I can get my hands on, but they are ridiculously expensive. The cheapest price is € 9,95, just a little $13,35. The most expensive is € 12,95, which is around $17,38.
In a swap a while back with Nory I received the gorgeous School Of Hard Rocks, but in my last swap with Iris I could add 3 more Essie's to my stash.
The first one is In Stitches. The color will look different in some lightnings. It looked like a brick color at first, but it's actually a kind of old pink color. Really nice!
Tart Deco. This one was on my wishlist for a long time! For some reason I expected it to be more pink, but it was actually more of an orange color. A really nice color orange :)
Last but not least: Sand Tropez. I remember seeing this one on Tumblr and on the girl it looked like a lovely nude color. I guess the girl was pale, because on me it's far from a nude color :P On swatches on Google it looks a bit sandy, but on me it doesn't. Still a pretty color though and I would definitely wear it!
From these 3 colors Tart Deco was the most pigmented. I did wear 2 coats, just like In Stitches. I'm super happy Iris gave me these Essie's :)
Did you notice my pics aren't square anymore? I like it better this was :)
Have a nice day!
xoxo Ingie
