Wham! Pow! Warhol is Almost Famous!

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

Well, hello there!

Now that my nail polishes are finally hanging on the wall, it's a little easier to find polishes I want to use for a little nail art.

The title pretty much gives away what polishes I used for this. I started with a white base color from Catrice, Snow Motion. I only wanted neon pink tips, so used Color Club's Warhol for that. I decided I'd like some orange with it and used Wham! Pow! for that. I wanted to see if you could stamp with Almost Famous and I find that it worked. It didn't really keep it's own color, but it does fit nice if you ask me :P I used image plate m65 for the stamp.

Of course the topcoat made it all streak again, while I waited for a really long time to apply it. I used O.P.I. topcoat that the sweet Nory got me :)

I think I might have found the setting on my camera where it shows a bit more color, perfect for neons. This isn't really color accurate, but it's way better than the washed out colors.

Nail Mail!

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

An extra post today! :D

When I come home after work a package was waiting for me. I'm still waiting for 2 more things; Color Club's Alias and China Glaze Fast Freeze Quick Dry Spray. But I did got some really nice polishes today.

Other than nail polish I also ordered nail wheels, because I want to try out some nail art. And another Konad image plate; m65

First I got some holographic polishes and from left to right you see;
- Color Club - Revvvolution
- Color Club - Wild At Heart
- Color Club - Worth The Risque

Believe it or not, but these are my first neon polishes (I think... :P)
- Color Club - Almost Famous
- Color Club - Pucci-licous
- Color Club - Warhol
- Color Club - Wham! Pow!

Some glitters:
- Color Club - Ultra-Astral
- Color Club - Ruby Slippers

Some loners:
- Color Club - Overboard
- Golden Rose - Holographic 110
- China Glaze - Pool Party

And here the pinks next to each other:
- China Glaze - Pool Party
- Color Club - Warhol
- Color Club - Ultra-Astral
- Color Club - Overboard

The neons are hard to capture, but the last picture is the best I could get :P

Do you have any of these polishes? If not, which one do you think you would buy yourself? Let me know, down below :)

Inspired On Tumblr; Zebra Nails

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

As you might know; I use Tumblr. Depending on what kind of stuff you're interested in you can follow tumblelogs that like these things too. I'm interested in anything that has to do with nail polish, so I follow nail polish/nail art and that kind of stuff blogs :P

For this mani I was inspired by this picture.  I didn't want to go for an all nude polish so I went for a little bit of holo with Color Club's Love 'Em Leave 'Em. Over that I stamped with the zebra image from image plate m57. (is it a zebra or tiger print? I still don't know... :P)

When that dried I applied a piece of striping tape and painted the left side black. I immediately took off the striping tape, because applying a topcoat or just waiting for it to dry will pull up the sides and maybe take of your polish under it.

Overall I'm kinda happy with how it looked. I'm looking forward to try more stuff that I've seen on Tumblr :)

If you have a Tumblr, please follow me at fyeahilovenails.tumblr.com :)

Dots & Bows

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

Obviously I haven't been posting frequently anymore. Working all day makes me feel so blegh in a way that I just don't do anything with my nails. I walk around with the same nail polish for 3 days :P But a change is coming. Today I decided to put my nails on an at least 2 week 'diet'. I filed them down, got rid of the ugly cuticles, took care of my cuticles and nails and put a nail hardener on. There are still 6 nails that have a break too far down to clip them off, so maybe I have to extend my nail diet.

But in the past week and today I did do some things with my nails which will be good for at least 1 post everyday this week :) So some days my nails may be shorter or longer.

I lost my Konad scraper for a few weeks and did not want to buy a new scraper, knowing that when I get the new scraper I will find my old one. Finally I bought 2 new scrapers and there my old scraper came out saying 'Peek-a-boo!' But I have 3 scrapers now and I can finally use my image plates again.

For this manicure I painted my nails in a lovely pink called Folly from Sinful Colors that I got from Iris. I used image plate m79 for the dots and image plate m59 for the bows. This manicure failed every single time I tried it, so this is the best I could make out of it :P

Thanks for reading!

Draggy Magic Crackle

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

I've been wearing this manicure since Tuesday night. And I'm wearing it until at least tomorrow night :P Not because it's that special, but because I'm too tired to actually change it. Last night when I wanted to go to bed my younger brother had an accident with his bike and I had to take him to the hospital, in another city, on my scooter, in the freezing cold weather! We got lost and I drove around for almost 2 hours! He didn't break anything, but probably has to go back tomorrow because it still hurts.

(For some reason I like to share that with those who read :P)

Anyhow, I know most people aren't into the crackle anymore, but in my country and definitely my city a lot of people want to know where to get these crackle polishes :P

This is a Miss Sporty crackle and it also comes in blue (you can win them in my giveaway). I first put it on a nail wheel over polishes that were on there and the crackle looked really nice. I even put on a second coat of crackle which made it look even nicer! So I finally know that it's best to let your nail polish dry completely and THEN apply a crackle polish.

If you're actually reading this post and wonder what colors I used, here a short list:
Base color: Color Club - What A Drag
Glitter: Color Club - Magic Attraction

Crackle: Miss Sporty

Thanks for reading! This weekend I'm going to try to finally read everyones posts again and leave comments :)

Day 11 - A Polish From My Favorite Brand [Color Club - De-Luxe-Cious]

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

Do I have a favorite brand? Not really. I like a lot and they all have some good and some bad stuff. But I choose for Color Club. I layered De-Luxe-Cious over Black. I should've showed you De-Luxe-Cious on it's own, but I accidentally delete the pictures from my camera :(

De-Luxe-Cious is a sheer blue based polish with rainbow glitters in it. They really show in real life. I don't really like the effect over Black, but now I know after giving it a shot :P

I promise better posts coming soon! :)

Day 10 - A Polish That I Think Is Boring [Color Club - Earthy Angel]

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

Just a really quick post. I've been kinda busy lately, so that's why I have nothing interesting to show you :P But for this post I actually had another polish to show you, but it was nowhere to find, so I picked Color Club's Earthy Angel.

It's not that boring, but I also don't find it that interesting. It was on my wishlist and when I had it, I was kinda disappointed. It's darker than a nude color, but it's not brown. It's hard to describe... I will probably find some use for this polish sometime and I will probably just wear it.

Sorry for the boring post, but thanks for reading! :)

Bloody Hell nails

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

This is just something random I did like a week ago. I wanted to try out this fan nail art brush :P I still don't know the use of it xD

I painted my nails with a dark grey, Miss Sporty Lasting Colour nr. 420. Over that I sponged Catrice's ASHley and Color Club's Black. I put some red nail polish on a paper, China Glaze's City Siren, dipped the fan brush in it and dragged it over my nails :P This is the result.

I have to say I kinda dig it... xD I wanted to see what it looked like matte, so used the Matte Effect top coat from Gosh.

Which one do you like better? The shiny or matte one?

Day 6 - A Polish I've Never Worn [Color Club - Nouveau Vintage/Snakeskin]

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

You may have seen this post yesterday, because I failed typing the right date :P

For this day I actually had quite a few polishes to choose from. I picked two, both from Color Club. I picked these, because of 2 reasons:
1. I wanted to have them so badly and when I had them I never even looked at it.
2. Looking at the bottle they look a lot like each other.
I can tell you that that last one is far from true when on the nails.

Here I have Nouveau Vintage for you. In the bottle this looks really green, but is completely different on the nails. It's a really sheer polish, so I'm wearing three coats. It has kind of a bronze base and has green, red, blue, yellow, green and orange micro shimmer in it. The green and red are most noticeable in real life.

See how green it looks in the bottle?

This is Snakeskin. It doesn't even come close to the color of Nouveau Vintage. In these pictures it looks kinda metallic silver, but in real life it looks like what you see in the bottle of Nouveau Vintage. This one has gold micro glitter in it which looks really pretty! In the pictures this one looks really streaky, but in real life it doesn't. I'm wearing two coats.

Just an unnecessary comparison :P

Which one do you like better? Do you have any of these polishes? Leave me a comment below :)

Cupcake nails + How To

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

It's not my birthday yet, that's in 2 months, but I did want to try cupcake nails. I've been wanting to try these since forever! Yesterday I ordered some dotting tools at dashicabeautyshop.nl and I got them today, so decided to give it a try!

Usually when I see cupcake nail art I see no base color. I didn't want that so I painted my nails black with a red and green glitter in it. This is Catrice - I Wear My Sunglasses At Night. The pink tips are Gosh - Neon Baby and the purple tip is Catrice - Lucky In Lilac.

It's up to you what colors you want to use for it of course :)

Let the tips dry and add some stripes to the tip color. I used China Glaze - Something Sweet on the pink tips and used Neon Baby again for the purple tip.

For the icing I didn't want to use just a plain white so I went for Color Club - Coastal Creme which I thought was perfect for it!

I had no idea what to use for the sprinkles so I almost applied some glitter over it until I decided to see if my dotting tool could grab the big glitters from Essence - Time For Romance. It worked! So I used those for the sprinkles.

That's it! It was so easy! I actually thought it was going to be really hard to do, but it wasn't.

Oh, I like comments, so please leave something :)

Zombie Fishnet Stockings

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

I couldn't think of a nice name for this :P I thought this would be nice, since I wanted it to be something for Halloween again.

I started with China Glaze High Hopes as my base color. This color is not 100% accurate in any of these pictures, because my camera can't capture it. At the end I'll show you what it actually looked like.

I used Konad image plate m57 again for the fishnet print and again I used Color Club Black for the stamping.

I sponged on the same black color starting from the cuticles up. In real life this actually looked kinda cool, so you could leave it like that if you're going out on Halloween. But if that will do any good to your cuticles and/or nails...

I cleaned up and added a topcoat and I was finished!

And since everything looks nicer when blurred;

And here is how much I had to edit my pics to make High Hopes look a little more like it looks in real life.

EDIT: For this I actually was inspired again on Tumblr. I just found the picture again! Click here! :)

Color Club - Fashion Addict!

This polish was on my wishlist for a while and a few days ago I finally ordered it. I've seen swatches of it, but wasn't expecting too much from it. I was wrong! This polish is so gorgeous! I'm in love...

Doesn't it look super gorgeous? This polish was amazing to work with. It was just perfect. Two thin coats were enough to make it pretty like it is :) Hello holo!

Funny side note: On the site where I got this from it says NO HOLO, while we can see that's a pretty big lie :P

Thanks for reading :)

Color Club - Sex Symbol + Comparison

Today a sexy nail polish swatch of Color Club's Sex Symbol. Okay, not really sexy, but pretty sexy... :P A few days ago I swatched Color Club's Magic Attraction and this one is pretty much the same, but just silver.

Look at that bling bling... :O

Since the swatch of Magic Attraction was a bit rushed I decided I could show you again (on a nail wheel, cause I do not want that on my nails again just for swatching) :P

The first nail shows Magic Attraction, the second nail shows Sex Symbol, the third nail shows What A Drag, the fourth nail shows Sex Symbol over What A Drag and the last nail shows Magic Attraction over What A Drag.

If you don't want to layer Sex Symbol or Magic Attraction 3 or 4 times to get it opaque I recommend you to layer it over a silver polish. I actually think it looks better that way anyways.

I'm not sure, but to me Sex Symbol looks a lot like O.P.I.'s Crown Me Already, but Crown Me Already has chunkier glitters in it.
