A Romantic Manicure

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

Today I have a really simple, cute and (in my opinion) romantic manicure. It's pretty wearable with the pink flowers and I actually got compliments on it. Happy! :D I love it when people randomly tell me they like my nails :P

This was really simple, although it took me a few times to get it right. The white polish just wouldn't dry enough so I was able to stamp over it and the China Glaze Quick Fast Freeze Spray (or whatever it's called) would make the stamper slip off my nails...

For my base color I used Snow Motion from Catrice and for the flowers I used Catrice's newer version of Let's Mauve On. The image plate is Konad m65.

Dupe Or No Dupe? Punk Purple vs. Wrapped Around My Finger

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

Another "Dupe Or No Dupe?"! :) I bought this Catrice polish at work last week and it actually never really stood out for me. I guess because the color is pinkish and I thought this was another polish I already had. Last week I was in the need to buy a polish at work again and since I own most Catrice polishes I just picked this one :P

E.L.F. - Punk Purple and Catrice - Wrapped Around My Finger

On the picture these 2 don't really look the same, but in real life they do. The colors aren't really color accurate either, but I bet you can find swatches online. I've used Punk Purple in my Punk Princess Nails post before.

You can see the difference between them. Punk Purple is a bit more purple and Wrapped Around My Finger is more pink. That's what you'll see in real life as well. If you own one of these you don't need the other polish, because nobody would notice it's another polish.

Thanks for reading! :)

Wham! Pow! Warhol is Almost Famous!

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

Well, hello there!

Now that my nail polishes are finally hanging on the wall, it's a little easier to find polishes I want to use for a little nail art.

The title pretty much gives away what polishes I used for this. I started with a white base color from Catrice, Snow Motion. I only wanted neon pink tips, so used Color Club's Warhol for that. I decided I'd like some orange with it and used Wham! Pow! for that. I wanted to see if you could stamp with Almost Famous and I find that it worked. It didn't really keep it's own color, but it does fit nice if you ask me :P I used image plate m65 for the stamp.

Of course the topcoat made it all streak again, while I waited for a really long time to apply it. I used O.P.I. topcoat that the sweet Nory got me :)

I think I might have found the setting on my camera where it shows a bit more color, perfect for neons. This isn't really color accurate, but it's way better than the washed out colors.

Nail Mail!

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

An extra post today! :D

When I come home after work a package was waiting for me. I'm still waiting for 2 more things; Color Club's Alias and China Glaze Fast Freeze Quick Dry Spray. But I did got some really nice polishes today.

Other than nail polish I also ordered nail wheels, because I want to try out some nail art. And another Konad image plate; m65

First I got some holographic polishes and from left to right you see;
- Color Club - Revvvolution
- Color Club - Wild At Heart
- Color Club - Worth The Risque

Believe it or not, but these are my first neon polishes (I think... :P)
- Color Club - Almost Famous
- Color Club - Pucci-licous
- Color Club - Warhol
- Color Club - Wham! Pow!

Some glitters:
- Color Club - Ultra-Astral
- Color Club - Ruby Slippers

Some loners:
- Color Club - Overboard
- Golden Rose - Holographic 110
- China Glaze - Pool Party

And here the pinks next to each other:
- China Glaze - Pool Party
- Color Club - Warhol
- Color Club - Ultra-Astral
- Color Club - Overboard

The neons are hard to capture, but the last picture is the best I could get :P

Do you have any of these polishes? If not, which one do you think you would buy yourself? Let me know, down below :)

Pink Wednesday; Swap Swatches

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

A few weeks ago I did a swap with Iris from PolishAmor. Thank the lord she got the package, so a weight fell off my shoulders :P Like seriously, when I see these programs on TV where they check packages at the airport I'm scared they will do it to my package too. Since I'm still not really sure if it's legal to send nail polish... :P

Anywho.. She got me some pink polishes too. I don't have the box with polishes close to me at the moment, so I can't tell if these were the only three xD

This first one is Sinful Colors - Folly. This picture isn't really color accurate, but I can tell you it's gorgeous!

When I wrapped this second one open I was like; my mom is gonna love this bottle. My mom came into the room, looked at the polishes I already opened and she was like; Ooh, I like that bottle!
I didn't say anything :P This is Naby in the color (I believe) Rose. I never heard of this brand before, but it is a really nice polish! And of course the color is gorgeous too! I wore this one for like 3 days.

This third one is Wet 'N Wild's Tickled Pink. I don't really know why this one was on my witslist. I have a few pinks like this already. Still I like this kind of pink!

Which of these 3 is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! :)

Dupe Or No Dupe? High Hopes vs. Think Pink

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

Whenever I get a new polish my mom is always like; "I thought you had something like that already..." I'm always in denial, but I know it's kinda true sometimes... :P That's why I came up with 'Dupe Or No Dupe?'

On the left we have China Glaze's High Hopes and on the right we have Essence's Think Pink. I find these colors pretty orange by the way.

These polishes look pretty much the same in real life. You really can't tell the difference. In this picture you can tell one color is a little bit darker than the other.

If I had to pick one I would go for Think Pink. The Essence polish was really nice to apply while the China Glaze one kept doing it's own thing. It was really annoying. Also, High Hopes was a bit more streaky and less opaque than Think Pink.

Which of these is your favorite?

Dots & Bows

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

Obviously I haven't been posting frequently anymore. Working all day makes me feel so blegh in a way that I just don't do anything with my nails. I walk around with the same nail polish for 3 days :P But a change is coming. Today I decided to put my nails on an at least 2 week 'diet'. I filed them down, got rid of the ugly cuticles, took care of my cuticles and nails and put a nail hardener on. There are still 6 nails that have a break too far down to clip them off, so maybe I have to extend my nail diet.

But in the past week and today I did do some things with my nails which will be good for at least 1 post everyday this week :) So some days my nails may be shorter or longer.

I lost my Konad scraper for a few weeks and did not want to buy a new scraper, knowing that when I get the new scraper I will find my old one. Finally I bought 2 new scrapers and there my old scraper came out saying 'Peek-a-boo!' But I have 3 scrapers now and I can finally use my image plates again.

For this manicure I painted my nails in a lovely pink called Folly from Sinful Colors that I got from Iris. I used image plate m79 for the dots and image plate m59 for the bows. This manicure failed every single time I tried it, so this is the best I could make out of it :P

Swap Swatches: Essie

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

There are a few brands here that are hard to get for me here in the Netherlands. Sometimes not that hard to get, but I happen to live in a country where everything is expensive. Essie is one of those brands where I can get my hands on, but they are ridiculously expensive. The cheapest price is € 9,95, just a little $13,35. The most expensive is € 12,95, which is around $17,38.

In a swap a while back with Nory I received the gorgeous School Of Hard Rocks, but in my last swap with Iris I could add 3 more Essie's to my stash.

The first one is In Stitches. The color will look different in some lightnings. It looked like a brick color at first, but it's actually a kind of old pink color. Really nice!

Tart Deco. This one was on my wishlist for a long time! For some reason I expected it to be more pink, but it was actually more of an orange color. A really nice color orange :)

Last but not least: Sand Tropez. I remember seeing this one on Tumblr and on the girl it looked like a lovely nude color. I guess the girl was pale, because on me it's far from a nude color :P On swatches on Google it looks a bit sandy, but on me it doesn't. Still a pretty color though and I would definitely wear it!

From these 3 colors Tart Deco was the most pigmented. I did wear 2 coats, just like In Stitches. I'm super happy Iris gave me these Essie's :)

Did you notice my pics aren't square anymore? I like it better this was :)

Have a nice day!

Untrieds Day 9 -19

As promised, but too late, my Untrieds that I wore on the days that my internet died. I found some new loves, but also polishes I wouldn't want to be seen with ever again!

I keep my Untrieds in a plastic bag in my polish stash and randomly pick out a polish. Since I deleted the pics by accident I now swatched them so you could see what I wore the past week. I didn't really take the time to clean up :P But enjoy! :)

Day 9
Brand: China Glaze
Name: Ahoy!
Finish: Shimmer
Yay or nay: Yay!

I never wore this one, because I thought it was just another pink. But it's not. It has a gorgeous orange shimmer in it!

Day 10
Brand: Essence
Name: Hard To Resist
Finish: Shimmer
Yay or nay: Nay!

I liked the color of this one, but the application was pretty hard. The brush of it is kinda messed up. I have a dupe for it; Catrice's Blues Brother Vol. II.

Day 11
Brand: Essence
Name: Blue Addicted [layered over Hard To Resist]
Finish: Jelly
Yay or nay: Yay!

I once layered this one over another polish, but the combination was not the right combination. This IS the right combination and it made me love Blue Addicted! It's not a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Across The Universe. It's a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Across The Universe! :)

Day 12
Brand: Sinful Colors
Name: Hottie
Finish: Glitter
Yay or nay: Yay and nay!

This is a really pretty glitter polish. It's even a really, really, really close dupe for O.P.I.'s Last Friday Night. The reason for the nay is because it's a pain in the ass to remove! It took me forever! I got this one in a swap with Nory :)

Day 13
Brand: Sally Hansen
Name: Bubblegum Pink
Finish: Creme
Yay or nay: Yay!

Again a pink where I thought it would be OR just another pink OR not a pink I would wear. In the bottle it looked almost a little bit frosty. In real life this color is beautiful! I couldn't capture it's true color. To me it looked nice with my skin tone and I think this one would look amazing with the Gosh matte topcoat. I got this one in a swap with Nory :)

Day 14
Brand: Catrice
Name: Be My Millionaire
Finish: Metallic/Foil?
Yay or nay: Nay!

This one is blegh! I hated it so much! I believe it is a nice one for stamping though, but just wearing it like this, on it's own; never again!

Day 15
Brand: Sally Hansen
Name: Plum Power
Finish: Creme/Shimmer
Yay or nay: Nay!

This is just not my color.. I don't have a lot to say about it :P I do want to tell that Sally Hansen is available in my country, but they're € 7,99 which is almost $11... So sad... xD I got this one in a swap with Nory :)

Day 16
Brand: O.P.I
Name: Black Cherry Chutney
Finish: Shimmer
Yay or nay: Yay!

I wish I grabbed this one the first day of the Untrieds! Or even before I started with the Untrieds. It's a really nice and vampy color. I think this would be great for this season. I got this one in a swap with Nory :)

Day 17
Brand: China Glaze
Name: Mummy May I
Finish: Glitter
Yay or nay: Nay!

I wanted to have this one so bad and when I got it I never put it on, because it didn't look like I expected it to be. With the first stroke it reminded me of Revlon's Facets Of Fuchsia, but that one is so much more nicer! This is just a fail :P

Day 18
Brand: Catrice
Name: From Dusk To Dawn
Finish: Creme/Shimmer
Yay or nay: Yay!

I've had From Dusk To Dawn in my Untrieds before, but this is the new version. I believe it's out since September, but never bought it because the color seemed so not me. Wrong! LOVE IT! It has a gorgeous pink shimmer in it, but you can only see it in some lightnings. On multiple blogs I read that the old version from From Dusk To Dawn is really hard to find, but... at work I found a bottle of the old one! :)

Day 19
Brand: Sinful Colors
Name: Why Not
Finish: Creme
Yay or nay: Yay!

I loved this one! Not a color I would pick myself. I wouldn't wear this one in the winter time, but for summer it would be amazing! Again, I got this one in a swap with Nory :)

Untrieds Day 6: Sinful Colors - Cream Pink

Another polish I got from Nory! Sinful Colors' Cream Pink.

It's kinda neon so it doesn't dry shiny. The picture below is without a topcoat. I should have take pictures with the topcoat too, so you can see the difference.

When I first saw this in the bottle I saw the orange shimmer and knew I don't have anything like this! So, yay! :P

Pink Stripes [100th post!]

95 days, 99 posts, ±230 comments and 245 followers later I present to you... my 100th post!

It was easier to get to 100 posts than I expected and those days fly by! When I hit 25 followers I was so happy! To thank everybody I had a giveaway, not thinking so many people would start following me!

I wanted this post to be more than just a simple swatch for the Untrieds month, so here I have something I did with the color I wore today. You will find out what color pink this is later tonight in my Untrieds post.

I don't have anything on my middle finger because the nail broke a few days ago and it would look weird next to the others :P But it's nice as an accent nail. My thumb is just pink too :)

I'm going for the next 100 posts! Keep me motivated with comments, because I love comments! :)

Anyone else watching the EMA's right now? It's still the red carpet show, but when the main show comes on I'll be switching back and forth between the EMA's and another show :P

Untrieds Day 2: China Glaze - Traffic Jam

Today's untried is another one from Nory. I almost bought this one myself, but I succeeded in not ordering polishes before I got Nory's package.

This polish is quite interesting... At first I was like; Oh, that's a nice darker pink polish! Until I went to the kitchen later at night to find out the color completely changed. It now was some kind of pink/purple and totally not looking like it looks in the picture. 22

This was just one coat and really messy! :P

Pink Wednesday: Not So Pink

Today some little bit of nail art again. It's really easy, but I kinda failed a bit as usual.

I painted my middle finger black and put striping tape in the middle of my nail. I put 2 more pieces on the left and 2 more on the right. Then I applied some pink and purples. To stay in these colors I randomly painted my other finger nails in the colors I used on my middle finger.

For this nail art I was inspired by the wall in front of me :P

Day 12 - A Polish From A Brand I Hate

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

I have another pink for you! I know you must be sick of those... :P

I don't really hate any brand, but why I choose Hema nr.12 is because whenever I go to the nail polishes at Hema they never have anything interesting to offer. They never seem to change the whole stuff once in a while. I only own 3 polishes from Hema and you probably have seen the other ones before.

I love this kind of pink! The picture isn't 100% accurate, but the pink is going towards a peachy pink. I'm wearing two coats of this one :)

Thanks for reading!

ELF Nail Polish review [PictureSpam!]

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

So here is my review on the ELF nail polishes I bought last week. I ordered them on eyeslipsface.nl and the polishes were € 1,00 per bottle.

We're starting with this first polish with the original name Light Pink. This polish was pretty thick. It didn't feel annoying on the brush and while applying, but it's not easy. It takes a really long time to dry, because you need 3 coats for opacity.

Light Pink: 3 coats

This is Gum Pink. It's thinner than Light Pink. 1 coat will be okay if you have short nails, but 2 for longer nails. Because it's thinner and you need less coats it dries faster than Light Pink.

Gum Pink: 2 coats

This is Light Red. The formula isn't too thick or too thin, but pretty much perfect. For this polish you also need 1 coat with short nails and 2 for longer nails. You can obviously see I'm only wearing 1 coat :P

Light Red: 1 coat

This is Plum. This one is the thinnest so far. It's a pretty pigmented polish, but whether you have long or short nails; you will need 2 coats, because of bald spots. On the picture it looks more brown than it actually is.

Plum: 2 coats

This is Black (oh really). Nice formula, but the brush had a few hairs sticking out at the bottom of the brush which would leave nail polish on my cuticle. Just like Plum it needs 2 coats, because of bald spots.

Black: 2 coats

This is Dark Navy. I wanted it so bad after seeing it on rebeccalikesnails. It's a bit of a thicker polish, but not annoyingly thick. 1 coat is enough. The brush was being annoying. In real life it looks almost black and the dark blue micro glitter is hardly noticeable in real life. It doesn't dry shiny.

Dark Navy: 1 coat

This is Fuchsia. Nice color, nice formula, nice application. Nothing bad to say about it. 1 coat is enough for short nails, 2 coats for longer nails.

Fuchsia: 2 coats

Punk Purple. Looks a bit like Fuchsia, but is darker and more purple. Everybody, with short or long nails, can get away with 1 coat, but 2 coats is better.

Punk Purple: 2 coats

This is Lilac and has pretty much the exact same formula as the first polish Light Pink. It makes me feel like they're actually kind of jelly polishes. 2-3 coats will do the job. Lilac is in real life lighter and more of a pastel color.

Lilac: 2 coats

This is Desert Haze. Nice formula, and pretty pigmented. You need 2 coats to cover bald spots. I think this is a gorgeous nude color if you have lighter skin than me. It won't stop me from wearing it though.

Desert Haze: 2 coats

Innocent... Not as innocent as it looks! Maybe it cheated on me... Why? Look at the pictures below this swatch.
From all the polishes this was the worst! The formula was kinda thin and at first it looked kinda sandy, but that wasn't the case. It applies streaky. This polish just seemed used.

Innocent: 3 coats

The bottle was kinda hard to open and this is what I saw!

This is Purple Pleaser and is lighter than Punk Purple. They have the same formula and you will also need 2 coats because of bald spots.

Purple Pleaser: 2 coats

Dark Glitter Purple. I wanted this one so bad, but is not as spectacular as it seemed. The glitter in this is better to see than in Dark Navy. On the picture it looks really blue, but is actually really purple. 2 coats are used for opacity.

Dark Glitter Purple: 2 coats

Overall, I can't really say bad stuff about these polishes. They're only €1/$1. If you see the quality that you get it's even better than you would expect for that price. The brushes are nice and thick although some of them have little hairs sticking out.

Do you have any ELF polishes and which one is your favorite? And from these swatches, which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below :)

xoxo Ingie
