Simple Red Glitter Christmas Manicure

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *
First let me apologize for not posting for a few days! (here comes the lame excuse) I simply just didn't have the time to do it. But I am back with a really simple Christmas manicure.

The gorgeous red glitter polish was given to me in a swap with Iris (Polish Amor). I remember when unpacking the package my brother was looking and this one was definitely his favorite. And I'm not talking about him wanting to wear polish :P He even asked me a few days ago what the brand of this polish was, because a friend of him needs a red glitter polish xD

This red glitter is called Dorothy and is by NYX. It has a sheer black base and you would need at least 3 or 4 coats to get this opaque and you would be stuck with lots of glitter on your nails. I only painted my nails with 2 coats of a black polish and applied this one on the tips and a little under that.

This manicure was done 6 days ago and in those six days my nails changed... An intern at work has a friend who wanted to provide me some acrylics. I gave in, but regret it. I knew acrylics were bad for your nails, but I actually don't like it, because it turned out ugly... So I wanted to ask if anybody knows if I can get them off by holding my nails in alcohol?

Thanks in advance :P

Also thank you for reading and I hope you will have an amazing Christmas!

Christmas Manicure: Red & Green Glitter

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

I've been trying to get my nails into Christmas spirit today. I've been trying different manicures and this was one of them.

As my base color I used Catrice's I Wear My Sunglasses At Night, because it has red and green glitters in it. Over that I tried to only apply Wet 'N Wild's Party Of Five Glitters at the base of my nail (I mean from my cuticle's towards the tip)

In the pictures it looks like there's purple in it as well, but that's not the case.

Excuse the skin around my middle finger. Probably the cold weather.

I always take my pictures with the flash, because without it's hard to capture true colors. But because it would show a lot of purple with the flash I took some pictures without the flash as well.

So, are you in a Christmas mood already?

Glitter In The Air

* * * Make sure to check out my birthday giveaway here * * *

I love glitter on my nails, but I hate to remove it. I'm too impatient for that one technique where you have to sit down with your fingers wrapped in acetone for like 10 minutes.

So yeah, I didn't wear this manicure, I was just trying out to see what that glitter looks like :P (btw, you can also win that glitter in my giveaway. just saying ;p)

This is Essence's Purplelicious and I swear there was another version of it! My bottle dropped on the floor months ago, but I do think I gave Nory one in our swap. Not sure. But if there was another version of it, I used it in this Paint Splatter mani.

Holo molo! (see what I did there?) I do like this one and I wish it was more opaque. That way you could just wear a holographic glitter polish on it's own.

Okay, I'm ready for the weekend and when you read this I've been working for almost 5 hours and still have to go on for 7!

So, what are you going to do for the weekend? :)

Untrieds Day 8: Revlon - Facets Of Fuchsia

Surprise surprise! Another polish I got from Nory! :P

My first and only Revlon nail polish. I did see swatches of this one,. I liked them, but not in a way that I wanted to have it. When I put this on my nails it was a different story. Again I liked a polish better when I had it on my nails! I wore only 2 coats, but 3 would be much, much better! I'll be wearing this one more often :)

Golden Rose Flakies [picture spam]

* * * 4 days left to enter my giveaway! * * *

Sorry for not posting for a few days. I'm just really not in the mood at the moment; girl problems.

I wanted to get some more Golden Rose flakies, but couldn't really find swatches. I finally found a page that showed all of them and I was surprised that all 15 are actually just 4 different flakies!

So if you want to see the 4 different ones, keep on reading.

This is number 04. In real life it looks green most of the time, but in some lighting and angles you can catch a beautiful blue! And sometimes green and blue. Number 04, 06, 11 and 14 are the same ones.

This is number 09. It's an orange/yellow flakie. You see both colors really well in real life. Number 03, 05, 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12 are the same.

This is number 13. You can also win number 13 in my giveaway btw. Number 13 is green/orange. The orange can be yellow at some times too. Number 01 and 13 are the same ones.

The last one is number 15. I think this is the most special one, because it looks kinda rainbow-ish in real life. But on the pictures the blue is really standing out next to the orange and yellow. Number 02 and 15 are the same ones.

Here I have them all next to each other. Number 04, 09, 13 and 15.

Without the flash you actually see them at their best!

From each flakie I used 1 coat and put them over Wet 'n Wild Fantasy Makers Black Cream that I got from Nory.

What do you think of the flakies? Do you have some of these? Or from other brands? And which ones do you recommend? :) I know, lots of questions! :P

Thanks for reading!

Swimsuit... Cracked It!

This was something I wanted to try for a pretty long time! Another polish going diagonal over my manicure. I finally did! :P

After wearing O.P.I.'s Swimsuit... Nailed It! for almost 2 days I had some tipwear, so decided I could give it a try :)

I put striping type diagonal over my nails. Then I painted the top part black. Over that I put Carnival Lights from China Glaze and over that I put Essence Crack Me! Silver. I took the striping tape off and then I applied new pieces of striping tape under the diagonal part.

Have you ever done something with striping tape? Let me know! :)

Day 11 - A Polish From My Favorite Brand [Color Club - De-Luxe-Cious]

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

Do I have a favorite brand? Not really. I like a lot and they all have some good and some bad stuff. But I choose for Color Club. I layered De-Luxe-Cious over Black. I should've showed you De-Luxe-Cious on it's own, but I accidentally delete the pictures from my camera :(

De-Luxe-Cious is a sheer blue based polish with rainbow glitters in it. They really show in real life. I don't really like the effect over Black, but now I know after giving it a shot :P

I promise better posts coming soon! :)

ELF Nail Polish review [PictureSpam!]

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

So here is my review on the ELF nail polishes I bought last week. I ordered them on eyeslipsface.nl and the polishes were € 1,00 per bottle.

We're starting with this first polish with the original name Light Pink. This polish was pretty thick. It didn't feel annoying on the brush and while applying, but it's not easy. It takes a really long time to dry, because you need 3 coats for opacity.

Light Pink: 3 coats

This is Gum Pink. It's thinner than Light Pink. 1 coat will be okay if you have short nails, but 2 for longer nails. Because it's thinner and you need less coats it dries faster than Light Pink.

Gum Pink: 2 coats

This is Light Red. The formula isn't too thick or too thin, but pretty much perfect. For this polish you also need 1 coat with short nails and 2 for longer nails. You can obviously see I'm only wearing 1 coat :P

Light Red: 1 coat

This is Plum. This one is the thinnest so far. It's a pretty pigmented polish, but whether you have long or short nails; you will need 2 coats, because of bald spots. On the picture it looks more brown than it actually is.

Plum: 2 coats

This is Black (oh really). Nice formula, but the brush had a few hairs sticking out at the bottom of the brush which would leave nail polish on my cuticle. Just like Plum it needs 2 coats, because of bald spots.

Black: 2 coats

This is Dark Navy. I wanted it so bad after seeing it on rebeccalikesnails. It's a bit of a thicker polish, but not annoyingly thick. 1 coat is enough. The brush was being annoying. In real life it looks almost black and the dark blue micro glitter is hardly noticeable in real life. It doesn't dry shiny.

Dark Navy: 1 coat

This is Fuchsia. Nice color, nice formula, nice application. Nothing bad to say about it. 1 coat is enough for short nails, 2 coats for longer nails.

Fuchsia: 2 coats

Punk Purple. Looks a bit like Fuchsia, but is darker and more purple. Everybody, with short or long nails, can get away with 1 coat, but 2 coats is better.

Punk Purple: 2 coats

This is Lilac and has pretty much the exact same formula as the first polish Light Pink. It makes me feel like they're actually kind of jelly polishes. 2-3 coats will do the job. Lilac is in real life lighter and more of a pastel color.

Lilac: 2 coats

This is Desert Haze. Nice formula, and pretty pigmented. You need 2 coats to cover bald spots. I think this is a gorgeous nude color if you have lighter skin than me. It won't stop me from wearing it though.

Desert Haze: 2 coats

Innocent... Not as innocent as it looks! Maybe it cheated on me... Why? Look at the pictures below this swatch.
From all the polishes this was the worst! The formula was kinda thin and at first it looked kinda sandy, but that wasn't the case. It applies streaky. This polish just seemed used.

Innocent: 3 coats

The bottle was kinda hard to open and this is what I saw!

This is Purple Pleaser and is lighter than Punk Purple. They have the same formula and you will also need 2 coats because of bald spots.

Purple Pleaser: 2 coats

Dark Glitter Purple. I wanted this one so bad, but is not as spectacular as it seemed. The glitter in this is better to see than in Dark Navy. On the picture it looks really blue, but is actually really purple. 2 coats are used for opacity.

Dark Glitter Purple: 2 coats

Overall, I can't really say bad stuff about these polishes. They're only €1/$1. If you see the quality that you get it's even better than you would expect for that price. The brushes are nice and thick although some of them have little hairs sticking out.

Do you have any ELF polishes and which one is your favorite? And from these swatches, which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below :)

Bloody Hell nails

* * * Make sure to check out my giveaway! * * *

This is just something random I did like a week ago. I wanted to try out this fan nail art brush :P I still don't know the use of it xD

I painted my nails with a dark grey, Miss Sporty Lasting Colour nr. 420. Over that I sponged Catrice's ASHley and Color Club's Black. I put some red nail polish on a paper, China Glaze's City Siren, dipped the fan brush in it and dragged it over my nails :P This is the result.

I have to say I kinda dig it... xD I wanted to see what it looked like matte, so used the Matte Effect top coat from Gosh.

Which one do you like better? The shiny or matte one?
