China Glaze - Urban-Night ft. Carnival Lights

First; Thank you all so much for following me! :) I've reached 20 followers today which motivates me more and more to keep doing this. I've even been thinking about a give away... So I've decided I'll do one when I reach 50 followers :)

On to the post! :)

I'm making myself crazy these days! A few days ago I posted about China Glaze's Crimson, deleted it later, mentioned in another post I said it was Crimson while it was Urban-Night to figure out a few minutes ago I DID post Crimson :P So I'll post that one tomorrow I guess.

So here is Urban-Night! A nice deep purple color. It seemed very pigmented, but it actually wasn't.. In the pictures I'm wearing 2 coats, but I obviously needed 3 :P It's not that much of an interesting color, but I don't have a lot of purple polishes so that's why I do like it.

I also bought Carnival Lights, swatched it, but that was a fail. Like I forgot I applied nail polish and just lived 'normal'. You can not live normal when you just applied nail polish a second ago :P So that's why I decided to see what it looks like over another polish. I like it! It made Urban-Night a little less boring xD

Carnival Lights could be worn on it's own and will be opaque in 4/5 coats. That's probably the reason why my swatch failed. This polish also doesn't dry fast and is pretty sticky when it's drying, so I don't think I'll ever wear this on it's own.

A blurry picture, so you can see the pretty rainbow sparkles :)

Catrice - Blues Brother Vol. II

Hello!

You may or may not have noticed that yesterday's post is gone. I deleted is because I made 2 mistakes.
1. I posted it as China Glaze - Crimson, while I showed pictures of Urban-Night
2. I said it was from the Metro Fall collection while it's from the Haunting collection.
So yeah, I messed up. The right posts will come in a few days :)

But today I have a gorgeous polish to show you!

This is Catrice's gorgeous new polish named Blues Brother Vol. II. Obviously they had a Blues Brother before, but I don't own that one.

As you can see it's a really gorgeous deep blue color with blue shimmers in it. One coat is enough, but I always want at least 2 coats :P

Thanks for stopping by again! :)

China Glaze - Skyscraper

Today I have another China Glaze, but from the same collection! Skyscraper from the Metro collection!

Look at this! It's gorgeous! Skyscraper is blue based and filled with blue and silver glitters. When I applied the first 2 coats I was worried I had to like pack on 4 or 5 coats, but 3 was enough.

I wasn't sure if I should get Skyscraper since it's a glitter polish, but I just thought I had to have it! And I was right, I had to have it. It wasn't hard to get it off. You're fingers will be covered in some glitter, but at least the cotton won't undress itself over your nails.

Is it bad that while I was painting this one on I kept singing Skyscraper by Demi Lovato all the time? :P Lovely song by the way.

Just like Midtown Magic Skyscraper belongs to the Metro (Downtown) Fall collection :)

China Glaze - Midtown Magic

Hello! I'm back again! Not that I was gone, but a few days gone will happen probably every week now :P

Anywho, I had some time to place an order at nailpolishfashion and one of the polishes I ordered was China Glaze's Midtown Magic. It has been on my wishlist for a while and I finally got it! Side Saddle was on my wishlist too, until I figured these two are basically the same :P

Sorry for the mess on my index finger

Let me try to describe Midtown Magic... It's a really dark brown base, almost black with orange and yellow (or golden, whatever you prefer) specks in it.

It applied smoothly, while most of the time I have trouble with the China Glaze brush. 2 coats make this baby opaque and ready for starting at your nails all day long!

Midtown Magic is from China Glaze's Metro Fall Collection 2011 (finally I own a recent CG!) and you can get it for $ 2,99 at nailsupplies or like me from nailpolishfashion with 10% off with coupon code lushious or BN4U :)

China Glaze - Something Sweet

Hello!

If you read my last post from yesterday you know I had 'picture day' at work today :P It was so awkward! I just had to let you know!

Anyways... Today just a random swatch from an old China Glaze collection. I don't own a lot of China Glaze's, only 5, but I just love this one (too)! It's Something Sweet from the Up & Away collection.

Something sweet it is! This lovely color! It's a pale pink color with a hint of lilac I guess. Never thought I would like that, but I do! I absolutely love it. Hopefully I still feel appropriate wearing this in fall and winter :P

Today I wanted to order nail polishes again, but I've managed to keep myself back. First of all because it's just so much money and sometimes I just feel bad buying so many xD But I shouldn't! So I still want to order ASAP, but I'm trying to wait until next week!

Btw, I think I get to know my camera a little better :P

Galaxy Nails Fail!

NOTE: these picture were made exactly one month ago!

Okay, ever since I saw galaxy nail art stuff on Tumblr I always wanted to do it myself too. One day last month I decided to do it for the first time and failed big time! :P

See the horror below!

Speaking of horror; tomorrow a photographer is coming to my work to make picture of me and my colleague, because we got robbed (I don't know the right word) at work a few months ago. We got interviewed last week, so I'm nervous! I never go on pictures and I always look like a mess! I can't even smile normal xD OMG, help me! :P

Catrice - After Eight

Hello!

Today I have a pretty polish to share with you! This is Catrice's After Eight, a polish from the new collection. When I think of the words After Eight I think of tea. I remember a commercial from a few years ago about tea, or cookies named like that and they were in a green package. Just a little fact :P

After Eight is a shimmery deep green polish with really small green and blue glitters in it. The polish is very pigmented and you can just apply one coat. For some reason I thought I needed another coat and didn't let the first coat dry, so I got a little bit of cuticle drag.

This polish is gonna be great for fall and winter. I honestly can't wait for it, because I love cold weather! My nails want to match the weather :P

Here you can really see the glitter and shimmer. Love it! The polish did went on a bit streaky, but you can hardly even tell in real life!

Diamond Cosmetics - Gold Foil

Hello lovely people! :)

Today's swatch is a fun color to me. It's gold! I think this is my first and actually only gold nail polish that I own, so this sentence doesn't really make sense I guess. Just blame the fact that it's past midnight... (usually I start living at that time :P)

This is a nail polish from Diamond Cosmetics and let me tell you it's great! The brush reminds me of China Glaze, which I really had to get used to when I got my first CG, but to me it just painted a little bit more smoother than CG.

Gold Foil is a metallic gorgeous gold color. For these pictures I used 2 coats to get it opaque, but you might even get away with just one. You know how some polishes are very pigmented, but you still need 2 or 3 coats to make it opaque? This is one of them.

The formula is kinda thin, but great to work with! It's not flowing away like water :P In the picture below you can see the micro glitters just sitting there being pretty.. Love it!

And lastly I decided to put the silver Essence crackle polish over it, since I hadn't show you yet. This one crackles so much different than the white one I showed once. I like this one way better!

In the Netherlands you can get Diamond Cosmetics at boozyshop.nl. In America you can order them online at diamondcosmetics.com for only $ 2,50! I believe they only ship in America, so that sucks for the rest... :(

And lastly I wanted to thank Steph from imperfectlypainted for sharing one of my posts in her recent post :)

Thanks for reading,

China Glaze - Heli-Yum

Hello lovelies!

When I started this blog I had a post with a picture of nails I would wear to the Dutch Gay Pride. I got my camera the same day I posted it and had no idea how to use it. I still don't know, but I'm getting better :P Anyhow, in that post the base color of my nails was Heli-Yum from China Glaze. The color on the picture was so off I decided I could make a new post.

Pretty color, isn't it? It's not exactly the way it looks like in real life, but to me it comes really close. You could say a pink trying to become a red... Do you get what I mean? xD

Heli-Yum could be worn with just one coat, but if you have longer nails you will need two. I found that this color was really nice and easy to apply and it wasn't thick at all, even though I've worn it a few times before.

I also wanted to mention something else. I know I'm not really swatching like newer polishes from new collections, but that is because I can't order from like transdesign or nailsupplies (yet). And if I can, I'm only able to order 9 polishes. In Dutch stores I can buy Catrice and Essence, but if you're from a country that doesn't have those brands this blog is pretty much pointless. I suck at nail art and all that, so I don't know what to do yet :P I did started my blog in Dutch too, where I will be swatching Catrice, Essence and more. So fellow Dutchies (or if you're from Belgium) click here :)

Jade Is Not My Name vs. I Sea You!

As you might know already Catrice came out with new nail polishes and of course I had to have those. Old polishes had to make room for the new ones and got discontinued, including I Sea You. But lucky enough I had that one already.

At work I was changing the whole Catrice display (I love to be around it ;p) my eye caught this new color that didn't look that much like I Sea You, but came close enough to be a fresher version of the color.

On the left: I Sea You!
On the right: Jade Is Not My Name
Next to each other they look pretty different. I Sea You is more green and Jade Is Not My Name is more blue. Since I kinda swatched I Sea You! once already (even though that was just one 1 one nail, but who cares? xD) I'll just swatch Jade Is Not My Name.

Ain't it pretty?! :D Now check out this last picture. Do you see a big difference? I don't. You won't even see the difference in real life at all! So bottom line: I didn't need to buy Jade Is Not My Name. However, I love the name so much it's just worth it to be in it! :P

Pointer: Jade Is Not My Name
Middle: I Sea You!
Ring: Jade Is Not My Name
Pinky: I Sea You!

Zoya - Dana

A swatch of my first Zoya polish! First off; I love this polish! I don't know why... And I'm not only talking about the color, but also just the polish by it self. The quality is great! So sad it's pretty expensive :( I wish I could order from their site! :P Much cheaper!

Zoya about Dana: "Dana can be best described as an All-American rose cream. Now this is a signature shade!" They also say this is opaque in 5 coats! I believe I'm wearing 2 coats in the pictures.

I'm not so sure about the 'signature shade', because I don't find it that special of a color. I think everybody has a similar color to this one.

I'm definitely planning to get myself some more Zoya's, but the only Dutch site that I know that sells Zoya doesn't have that many interesting colors.

I find this an awkward picture :P

Day 9 - Rainbow Nails

My days fly by! :P Skipping day 6, go to day 7, skipping day 8 and go to day 9 in one day! I don't even know if that is a right sentence, but whatever xD I'm excited about this one!

Rainbow nails! This color combination is something that I've used since kindergarten. Well, it actually started when we had to make a stupid decoration that we could connect easily and to make it all nice and neat we had to do red, yellow, green and blue. I changed that later into pink, orange, yellow, green and blue.

I should've made pictures from the beginning, so you could see what it looked like, but I think you get the idea. I just did it really simple; paint my nails pink and from there painting another color higher on my nail. The next day, yes THE NEXT, I applied 5 thin strips of striping tape all over every nail and painted it black. That was more of a drama than I expected it to be.... :P

Later I pulled the tape off and it wasn't really that nice looking, but nice enough that people around me wouldn't see the mess I made xD
At night my nails actually started to look dull, even though I applied a top coat. But my top coat is halfway in the bottle so it's hard to get out of it, so that actually ruins my manicures easily too.

And these three pictures are just for the like :P I like the first 2 of these 3 :)

xoxo Ingie

Day 7 - Black & White Nails

Yes, I skipped day 6 :P I'll just go straight to day 7, black & white nails!

An accent nail! I like... But not when it's black and white, because the contrast is so big! Since I found this a little bit too boring I decided to use my newest Konad image plate, the m60 :)

That's a little better! I think I would wear this out when I painted all my nails black and stamp with a white polish on that ring finger.

Since I didn't had the chance to show you the Golden Rose Scale Effect #9 polish I thought this would be the time. I tried it a few times on a pink nail polish, but it was hard to capture with my camera. On black it just looks amazing! I can't wait to buy more of these!

And another angle... In the first picture with this nice flakie you see more like orange, red and green. In this second one you see more yellow. I love it!

Thanks for reading,

xoxo Ingie

Catrice - Marilyn & Me

Marilyn & Me? Nice name! Everytime Catrice comes out with a new collection they come up with the best names. They did it again!

A few days ago I showed you red nails for the challenge, but I happen to got a new red polish a few days later. I just had to show you this one!

It's red (obviously..) with red shimmer and chunky glitter. I've actually never really seen those two together! I think it's really pretty. I wouldn't wear this polish now, but more when we're going into the winter. I find it so Christmassy (I like using words that don't exist xD)

In this last picture you actually don't see much of the chunky glitter, but still you can see how gorgeous it is! For this polish I first applied 2 coats, but wanted to try 3 instead. It was really opaque with 3 coats1 :)
